You’ll no doubt notice a number of new visual flourishes and layout changes, but one of the most exciting new things we’re introducing is “Collectively Speaking,” our on-going blog series dedicated to the needs of hotel owners, developers and others seeking solutions for their hotel design and building needs. Each week, we’ll address a new issue that directly impacts the hotel industry. This week let’s talk about our new positioning and why we’ve decided to move in this direction.
Most of you whom we have worked with during our nearly 30 year history will know us as Cornerstone Design, an award-winning interior design firm focused on the hospitality, commercial, multi-family, mixed-use and high-end residential markets. While interior design will remain our keystone, we are pivoting in a new direction to meet the realities of a post-pandemic world as we work with our partners to accelerate and simplify the hotel development process.
The far reaching impact of the Covid-19 virus has changed the hotel business dramatically in terms of how some investors will approach development and design in the future. Over the coming years, a substantial number of hotels will change hands and go through repositioning. Development also will step up in response to an economic rebound. Speed and coordination will be key elements in how investors will generate the highest returns.
